The Jungle













Walks in the jungle turned out to be more than a walk in the park. After the first ten steps, we were all drenched from sweat. Following our local guide, Alex, with the best and only “weapon” in the jungle: the Machete. He carved passageways out of thick bush; built bridges over creeks; cracked nuts; and stripped bark constantly. We saw troupes of squirrel monkeys, heard the Howlers, and experienced the primeval isolation of the Jungle carried by the unique smells and sounds of this special place…..
